ABOUT PINFORCE MOBILE

DCA, in collaboration with the City of Melbourne, initially designed and developed an electronic infringement issuing and management system using new handheld technology.  The main aim of this system was to record and issue penalty infringement notices.

Since then the system has undergone continual development to become the highly configurable mobile data collection application, PinForce Mobile.

PinForce Mobile can be configured to collect any amount of data on any subject matter from parking infringements to survey information.  Apart from parking details, PinForce Mobile can also collect information relating to audits, inspections and investigations that are performed by field officers. 

Managing these evolving demands of issuing infringements and providing community services requires powerful tools that are portable, efficient, lightweight and yet flexible enough to provide a broad range of services.

Using handheld mobile devices, the PinForce Mobile solution combines all of these features. This has made DCA a market leader in infringement issuing technology integrating world leading non-proprietary hardware with DCA’s powerful and intuitive graphical software and comprehensive back-end management software.

The PinForce Mobile system solution consists of the following components:

1. Handheld and Printer Hardware - The handheld device to be carried around by council officers for the recording and issuing of infringement notices.
2. PinForce Mobile Software - The infringement issuing software residing on the handhelds devices to manage data entry, data management and wireless (Bluetooth) printing functions.
3. Handheld Synchronisation Software - The technology allowing data to be securely exchanged between the handheld devices and backend system. The middleware (Afaria) selected by DCA is the global industry leader and supports both wired and wireless communication.
4. PinForce Manager Software - The management software required to collate, store, report and search for infringement records and with complete security including user groups, encryption and audit trails.

Over 2,000 officers throughout Australia and New Zealand are now using PinForce Mobile to issue approximately 5 million infringements which equates to a value in excess of $500 million in infringement revenue.

PinForce Mobile is also acquiring a strong international presence and has already been deployed in several locations in the US.
